Its true what they say what goes around comes around. I Started my first business venture 20 years ago. Knitting mohair jackets on a chunky knitting machine and went to my local craft fair to sell my wares. It was hard work but also very satisfying to see that end product. At that time my children were small and I needed to find some way of working from home but also wanted to make some extra money, so from my love of knitting and what started off as a hobby turned into a very good business at that time. I progressed from there to opening my first shop with my sister and that was a combination of my hand knits and buying knitwear from a wholesaler, but then I got so busy I did not have time to knit so I brought the knitwear from wholesalers,20 years have now passed. I no longer have a shop and I now work from home and instead of making knitted jumpers, I have now started to make my own jewellery. So as they say back to square one! Here is a picture of my first pearl bracelet. I still have my way of selling but its now online instead of craft fairs. On Tuesday I went to the Chic Jewellery show at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry with a friend, I am afraid I was not very impressed with the actual exhibition that was held there. I would say there was only a fraction of stands there compared to the spring fair. They did put an absolutely fantastic catwalk show with brilliant dancer/models, it was introduced by Jason Gardiner from skating on ice and gmtv. I must say I thought he seemed very nice and not like he portraits himself on skating on ice, the catwalk was very entertaining so it was worth going just for that.
